Is a dog a natural being or a product of culture? If a dog is man's best friend, how does that friendship manifest for humans versus dogs? Do we have any means to peek into a dog's stream of consciousness? What does a smart dog signify for a person, and what does it reveal about humanity? Ultimately, can our efforts to understand dogs help us understand ourselves better?
