The selected films represent established authors from Kinoklub Zagreb, along with a few newer club members. They are linked by exceptional creativity, a strong authorial stance, and a continuity of cinematic creativity, with the exception of newer club filmmakers. In this small selection, we will watch a choice of experimental films and film essays, currently very active and frequently used film forms among Kinoklub Zagreb authors. The hybrid form of the film essay openly relates to film genres and styles, freely using various film materials and techniques, characterized by the author's personal stance on the topic they explore. Although a limited and personal cross-section of club films in terms of duration, the quality and diversity of cinematic content and expression adequately represent the authorial club film. Unfortunately, not all the films by the authors that should be presented to the Subotica audience could fit in this screening, so we hope for another cinematic gathering.

Kinoklub Zagreb, founded in 1928 as a cinema section of the Photo Club Zagreb, is the oldest club of amateur filmmakers in Southeastern Europe and the most prolific Croatian production house of short films. Today, Kinoklub Zagreb operates as a platform for amateur filmmaking that supports complete authorial freedom and, by providing free access to film knowledge and tools for all interested citizens, enables them to engage in filmmaking. The films for the screening were selected by Lana Kosovac, a film director and screenwriter, a member of the Executive Board of Kinoklub Zagreb, and a lecturer at the Film School of Kinoklub Zagreb.
