Join us on Monday, June 17 at 7 p.m. for another literary evening in the "Literature Returns to Subotica" series, featuring the young writer Bojan Krivokapić.
.
During the evening, we will present his book "Vila fazanka" (Arete, 2023).
.
"Upon returning from abroad, where she spent most of her working life, Ana, the main character of this novel, buys an apartment 'with a view of the Danube and the Army Home.' She tries to settle down, but the birds from her past won't let her rest. One August, she goes north to the plains to watch over her best friend's house and dog at Vila Fazanka. This marks the beginning of a series of stories and encounters with seemingly ordinary yet very unusual characters. There’s also Granda, a Hungarian vizsla, who wagged his tail tirelessly. This is a novel about a peaceful plain that simmers like a subcutaneous abscess, where voices from the past and former residents of dilapidated houses, with their polyphony, refuse to let the veil of forgetfulness cover them."
.
The discussion will be led by Stefan Basarić.
.
