On Friday, June 28, starting at 7:00 PM, the next literary evening in the cycle "Literature Returns to Subotica" will be held at the Klara and Rosa space (Petefi Šandora 15). This time, we present Stefan Basarić's new poetry collection titled "Empty Shadows."
.
Self-examination, as well as examination of society, the consequences of war, the pandemic, or self-alienation, are just some of the themes we will encounter in Stefan Basarić's first poetry collection.

The lyrical subject will take us on a journey of self-discovery, for which everything that surrounds us is needed – space, society, technology. The fears caused by everyday life are actually what drive us, what push us to be better, not to repeat the mistakes so often repeated in history, but also not to forget, because in this book, forgetfulness is depicted as the worst thing that can happen to us. On that path of self-discovery, the lyrical subject (again) tries to recognize friendship, love, to establish a balance lost due to the influence of everything that has led him to stand in front of the mirror and finally realize that he is still a happy man. – Gorica Radmilović

Basarić's poetry collection "Empty Shadows" explores complex, real and surreal, comic and disturbing landscapes that make up our everyday existence. In these landscapes, the author skillfully and convincingly shows us that without passing through other people, we can never reach ourselves. That is precisely why his poetry connects the individual with the social, testifying to the deep human need for meaning and community. – Stevan Bradić
